In this article, in Life and Work, the monthly magazine of the Church of Scotland, Jackie Macadam interviews Monica Spooner and her husband Roger, founders of the Balfour Project (now the Britain Palestine Project), about their discovery of the Balfour Declaration and its consequent injustices for the Palestinians; and about Monica’s book about it all Why Didn’t I Know?, in which she relates how her faith helped her battle on against Britain’s “colonial deceit” in the Holy Land.
