On The World This Weekend (BBC Radio 4, Sunday 21 Sept), host Jonny Dymond spoke with two leading voices on the Middle East. Robert Malley, American lawyer and conflict resolution specialist, explained why he no longer believes the two-state solution offers a viable path forward. Then Rashid Khalidi, Palestinian-American historian, explored the meaning and implications of recognition of the State of Palestine. Finally, BPP trustee Sir Vincent Fean, a former British Consul in Jerusalem, dealt firmly with suggestions that recognition either meant little or was negative for Israel.
