Part 1
Sami, our man in Gaza since before 7 Oct 2023, talks to us from his refuge there of the devastation, the mass killings and the degradation of Israel’s continuous blitzkrieg of Gaza’s Palestinians. In this first report, Sami describes the dilemmas this attempted genocide poses him and his young children, in conversation with Mike Joseph. Sami also mourns the death of his aged mother, a Nakba survivor, in the most humiliating conditions.
Part 2
Sami Abu Salem, our man in Gaza since before 7 Oct, 2023, talks to Mike Joseph about the dire choices posed by Israel’s genocidal war: how can Palestinians unify or think of rebuilding in the face of the Israeli blockade, of food, goods, fuel, reconstruction materials and medicine, and Israeli blackmail—withholding funds from the West Bank Palestinian Authority against Palestinian rejection of the International Courts? And what future for Sami and his children? To stay…or to leave? The burning question for any Gazan parent.
Part 3
Mike Joseph talks to Ben Lake, Plaid Cymru MP for Ceredigion-Preseli, about Westminster’s virtual parliamentary paralysis on Gaza in particular and Palestine as a whole; the ‘cowardice’ of the Labour leadership after Israel’s blitz and total siege began in October 2023; our failure to send help to Gaza; and the inequities of UK refugee policy: Ukrainians, Yes. Afghans, Yes. Palestinians, No.
